The Panodyne Antigen Rapid Test Kit from Multibrands International, based in Bradford, UK, reveals if a person is currently infected with the pathogen: SARS-COV-2. Once the COVID-19 infection has gone, the antigens will no longer be present.
The Panodyne SARS-COV-2 Antigen Rapid Test Kit for COVID-19 uses a specially designed swab to collect a sample and determine whether or not a person is currently infected with COVID-19. The swab is inserted gently into the nostril and mouth to take samples from the nasal cavity and tonsils.
The collected sample is then placed in to an extraction tube that contains approximately 0.5ml of a specially designed virus preservation solution. Then after just 2 minutes, the specimen is placed on to a testing cassette, and an accurate test result is shown within just 15 minutes.
The Panodyne Antigen Test Kit has an accuracy rating of up to 98% and it can be used by medical professionals to confirm current infection of COVID-19. The data collected from this test result can be used to investigate the spread of the coronavirus, further inform safe working practices and help to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
The current UK COVID-19 testing process can be highly invasive, as well as time-consuming. The swab measures just 150mm, making it more comfortable for people, and in particular younger children who may not fully understand the current circumstances of COVID-19
